Magento + ebay: 3 Good Things

The acquisition of Magento by ebay will result in 3 positive outcomes for users and resellers of Magento:

(1) Magento On-Demand (the SaaS version) will compete with theMid-Tier SaaS players like Venda and GoE Cart on out-of-the-box features and price.  The question is will they be able to offer the customer service of a Venda - totally focused on client e-commerce as a business solution.

(2) Tighter integration between auctionware and Magento.  The value goes both ways and it’s not just all about customers.  We will see Magento with auction functionality and this will help Magento merchants with auction and “closeout sale” functionality.

(3) A reaction from Amazon. Amazon will react with a more consumable small business SaaS offering. They will have to in order to compete.
